Once again, Lone Star found itself moving, this time to the campus of Texas A&M Commerce.  The corps also decided to take the risk and move up to Division II.

It was decided that a more crowd pleasing show was needed.  The creative change chosen was doing a jazz show based on the music of Buddy Rich.

The show was entitled "Hot Sounds of Cool Jazz".  The music included Backwoods Sideman, Mercy Mercy Mercy, Storm at Sun-Up, and Love for Sale (from Night and Day).

In some ways it was a very difficult season for the corps.  many staff changes and a few member problems put the corps initially off-balance and clouded what many would confirm was a very successful year.

The corps came out with it's largest and most talented group yet.  And despite the obstacles, the corps performed their program very well.  The corps found itself again a crowd favorite.  They ended taking 11th at Division II prelims and scored a 79.6, far higher than was expected at the beginning of the season.
